Some of you may remember that in 2013 I helped raise over a million dollars with Wings Of Kilimanjaro for water wells and a school in Tanzania for the Maasai. We spent 3 nights on the summit of Kilimanjaro trying to fly paragliders off of Stella Point. At the time, only a handful of pilots had ever flown from Stella Point but we would not be added to that list because we could never get suitable winds. To launch a paraglider, like an airplane, you need to create lift so either you launch into strong winds or you run into lighter winds and thus create the lift needed to fly.
This year, a few of us raised some more money and got the necessary permits to, as my British friends say, give it another go. This was Wings of Kilimanjaro 2016.
